As well as boasting state-of-the-art surf park technology and world-class facilities, Bahrain Surf Park also houses a dedicated kids club, a series of luxury cabanas to rest and refuel after your surf session, a fully stocked surf shop and plenty of dining options. It’s a full-day experience for surfers and non-surfers alike.
No, not at all! Surfing is our main attraction, but you're more than welcome to grab a bite at our restaurant, or purchase a Beach Pass to relax on the sunloungers and simply enjoy watching the surfers in action. If you'd still like to get in the water, you can have a swim in one of our pools or join a Play in the Bay session for a fun and relaxed water experience.
Our 30,000 cubic metre surf lake — holding roughly the same amount of water as 12 Olympic swimming pools — is designed to create waves for everyone, from first-time surfers to experienced riders.
The depth varies across different areas of the lake.
In the beginner zones, known as The Bays, the water is 0.5m deep - perfect for learning the basics of surfing.
In the advanced areas, called The Reefs, the depth reaches up to 2.5m, creating ideal conditions for more experienced surfers.

If you (or someone in your group) are hitting the waves, we recommend setting aside 3-4 hours. This gives you plenty of time to check in, get suited up, enjoy your surf session or lesson, and then refuel at our restaurant afterwards. If you’re just here to relax, you can stay as long as you like!
Yes! Our Keiki Club is the perfect spot for your little ones to have fun while being supervised by qualified carers. This means you can fully enjoy everything Bahrain Surf Park has to offer, knowing your kids are safe and in great hands.
Yes! We’re committed to making Bahrain Surf Park a welcoming and accessible space for all our guests, with disabled changing rooms and toilets and adaptive surfing lessons available upon request.
You’re welcome to watch from the Clubhouse free of charge. However, if you’d like to get 'Surf Side' and enjoy the pools and sun loungers, you’ll need a Beach Pass. You can find out more about the Beach Pass here.

We’ve got everything you need for an unforgettable day out, including a restaurant, multiple swimming pools, a splash pad and kids' club, and private cabanas available for hire.
Surfing is suitable for ages 6 and up. For safety, all surfers must be able to swim 25 meters unaided to join a surf lesson or session.

Getting Here
Bahrain Surf Park is located at Bilaj Al Jazayer Beach and is easily accessible by land, sea, or air.
From the King Fahd Causeway: Cross into Bahrain, continue on Shaikh Khalifa Bin Salman Highway, then take the Al Zallaq exit. Follow Al Zallaq Road for about 5km and look for signs to Bilaj Al Jazayer Beach.
From Manama: Head south on Shaikh Khalifa Bin Salman Highway, take the Al Zallaq exit, and follow Al Zallaq Road for 5km to reach the beach.

Surfing Information
At Club Hawaii Surf Academy, we’re inspired by the ocean that surrounds us and the deep-rooted ‘Aloha Spirit’ that’s at the heart of island culture - finding joy in the water and in each moment spent on it.
Drawing from Hawaii’s rich connection to the sea, our academy embraces the Hawaiian values of care (malama) and responsibility (kuleana). We honour the traditions that guide us, helping every surfer discover the unique bond between the waves and the Hawaiian way of life.
Whether you’re hoping to catch your first wave, sharpen your turning skills, or are on the trajectory to Olympic success, our Club Hawaii Surf Academy coaches will be there to guide you, every step of the way.
The surf lake will be cooled during the summer months to help maintain comfortable conditions throughout.
During Bahrain’s mild winter season, the water is expected to remain at approximately 20–22°C (68–72°F), although temperatures may vary depending on weather and seasonal conditions.
Wetsuits will also be available for guests who prefer additional comfort in cooler conditions.
We recommend checking current conditions before your visit.
Our waves are powered by cutting-edge Wavegarden Cove technology. This is a modular, mechanical system which moves the water to stimulate ocean swells. It can produce up to 1,000 waves per hour - from gentle, white water waves to powerful, thick slabs!
Our waves range from small, white-water waves in our Beginner Lessons and Sessions all the way up to our Beast wave, which offers thick, barreling slabs.

Children aged 6 years and older can join our surf sessions and lessons. For those not quite ready to surf, kids can participate in our Play in the Bay sessions or enjoy swimming in the pools, under adult supervision.
The surf lake uses fresh water.
To maintain excellent water quality and guest comfort, the lake uses advanced filtration technology from Spain with a multi-stage treatment system, including UV filtration. This allows us to operate with significantly lower chlorine levels than many traditional commercial pools.
The system is designed to provide clean, comfortable water while minimizing chemical usage as much as possible.
The Wavegarden Cove technology can deliver up to 1,000 waves per session! So, whether you're a beginner or a pro, you'll have plenty of opportunities to ride the waves.
Ride times vary based on skill level and the type of wave being generated.
While you must be able to swim 25m unaided to join a surf lesson or session, we also offer swimming lessons and our Play in the Bay session, where you can enjoy the water in a safe and relaxed environment.
Sessions and Lessons
No, a wetsuit isn’t required - but if you’d like one, we’ve got plenty available to rent! However, for health and safety reasons, all guests must wear a rash vest when entering the water.
Our Ladies Only sessions are a safe space for women to experience the many physical and mental health benefits of being in the water, with the support of a wonderful community of women.

Perfect for beginners and families, our Play in the Bay experience offers gentle white-water waves for a fun and relaxed introduction to the surf lake. This enjoyable 30-minute session is great for all ages and abilities.
Surf lessons are available for anyone aged 8 and up. All participants must be able to swim 25 meters unaided for safety reasons.
In a surf lesson you'll have a coach in the water with you, guiding you through the basics or helping you refine your skills. It's perfect if you're new to surfing or looking to improve.
A session is your opportunity to practice what you've learnt independently. There won't be a coach in the water, so it's ideal if you're comfortable on your own and want to hone your skills.
All of the surfing lessons and sessions that we offer are 1 hour long.
Our Play in the Bay session is 30 minutes long.

Session and lesson changes are subject to availability.
If you need to amend your booking, please contact us at least 7 days before your scheduled session through your Bahrain Surf Park account or our Guest Services team.
Unfortunately, changes or cancellations within 7 days of your booking are generally not possible while the park is operating.
The number of surfers per session varies depending on the time of day and session type:
Up to 25 surfers each side in The Bay (beginner area)
Up to 20 surfers each side in The Reef (advanced area)
Yes, you're welcome to bring your own board! However, we also have a great selection available for hire. Please note that we cannot accept responsibility for any damage to personal boards.
Please be aware that arriving late and missing the safety briefing may result in you being unable to enter the lake. Unfortunately, we cannot offer compensation for missed sessions.
No, board changes aren’t allowed once your session starts - so make sure to pick the right one before you hit the water and ask our surf coaches for advice if you need it!

Only food and drinks purchased on-site can be consumed at the surf park. But don’t worry - you’ll have plenty of delicious options to choose from at our restaurant and Oasis'!

The Keiki Club is perfect for children aged 4 to 12 years old. They’ll have a blast with supervised activities while you enjoy the surf park!
Yes, you can! While you’re catching waves, your little ones can enjoy the Keiki Club. It’s the perfect way to enjoy some free time, knowing they’ll be having a great time and being supervised by qualified carers.
Absolutely! Head to the Clubhouse after your session to purchase professional photos and videos of your surf session to capture all your awesome rides.

Yes, feel free to bring your own camera. Just be mindful of the water, and be sure to keep it safe while you’re out there catching waves. Please note we can't accept responsibility for any damage to personal property.

It comes down to personal preference, but we recommend booking a session where you’ll be riding forehand (facing towards the wave face whilst surfing) - most surfers find this easier than going backhand (facing away from the wave face whilst surfing). You can always switch it up and try the other side next time!

Health & Safety
All water sports come with inherent risks, but don't worry - our fully qualified lifeguards and surf coaches will be on hand throughout your visit to ensure your safety and provide support when needed.
Yes, we have fully qualified lifeguards on duty at all times to ensure your safety while you’re enjoying the water.
Helmets are required for under X year olds. For everyone else, helmets are not required, but they are recommended for extra protection. We have helmets available to hire - just speak to a member of the surf team when you arrive.
Lifejackets are not required, but they are available for anyone to hire - just let us know if you need one when you arrive!
Any non-swimmers will be required to wear a lifejacket at all times around the water.
Regular testing is done to ensure the water meets the highest standards, and we have state-of-the-art systems in place to maintain its cleanliness to ensure the safety of all our guests.
You can wear contact lenses in the water, but it’s important to be aware that there’s a risk of them getting dislodged or damaged.
