1. General
a. These Terms and Conditions apply to all bookings made for surf sessions, bodyboarding, and any other activities (collectively referred to as “Activities”) at Bahrain Surf Park. They also cover services we provide—such as board repair—and your use of our facilities and the park itself.
b. Some Activities may come with additional or specific terms and conditions. For the most up-to-date details, including any extra requirements, please visit our website or contact our Customer Service Team.
c. Please take a moment to read these Terms and Conditions carefully, as they form the basis of your agreement with Bahrain Surf Park SPC (“Bahrain Surf Park”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) and contain important details about your booking and visit. By entering the park or booking any Activity or service, you are confirming that you accept and agree to these Terms.
d. If you are booking on behalf of others, it’s your responsibility to ensure that every person in your group has read, understands, and agrees to comply with these Terms and Conditions.
e. You must be 18 years or older to make a booking or purchase either online or in person at the park.
f. These Terms and Conditions include our Privacy Policy and the Acknowledgment of Risk and Waiver, which can be found in Section 6.
g. Any changes to these Terms are only valid if confirmed by us in writing.
h. Bahrain Surf Park reserves the right to modify any Activities or services at any time to meet safety requirements or legal regulations. We won’t be liable for any changes made for these purposes.
i. Please note that Bahrain Surf Park is private property. Only those with prior authorisation may sell or promote products or services—including food, drinks, photography, videography, or coaching—within the park grounds.
2. Your Booking
a. Before You Book
Surfing and bodyboarding are exciting but physically demanding activities. By making a booking, you confirm that you—and anyone you're booking for—are fit and able to take part. If you’re unsure about your or someone else’s physical condition, we strongly recommend seeking medical advice before booking and contacting our Customer Service Team to discuss any specific needs.
b. Choosing the Right Session
At Bahrain Surf Park, we can generate a variety of wave types to suit all levels. Each surf or bodyboard session is designed for specific skill levels, so it's important to book the right one. Please check our online session guide to ensure the session matches your ability—or that of anyone you're booking for. If we find during a session that a guest is in the wrong group, we’ll do our best to move them to a more suitable one. If no alternative is available, the participant may be asked to leave the session, and unfortunately, no refund or compensation will be offered.
c. Parental Consent
Guests under 18 must have permission from a parent or legal guardian (or an authorised adult acting on their behalf) to take part in any Activity. If a waiver is required, it must be completed by the parent, guardian, or authorised adult before the session begins.
d. Making a Booking
Bookings can be made online via your Bahrain Surf Park account or as a guest, or you can give our Customer Service Team a call to book over the phone.
e. Booking Confirmation
After your booking is placed, we’ll send a confirmation email to the address you provided. Your booking is only confirmed once this email is sent, which also forms the contract between you and us. The email will include your tickets and essential information like check-in and arrival times—please read it carefully.
f. Booking Details
Check your confirmation email as soon as you receive it. If anything doesn’t look right, get in touch with our Customer Service Team straight away. We reserve the right to correct any errors or omissions in booking confirmations without liability.
g. Tickets
Your tickets are only valid for the sessions listed in your confirmation email. Tickets must not be resold, transferred, or swapped without our written approval. Doing so will void the booking. Please note that we may not be able to replace lost or stolen tickets unless at our discretion.
h. Arrival Times
We’ll send you an email before your session with all the arrival and check-in details. It’s crucial to arrive on time and to have completed your Acknowledgment of Risk and Waiver in advance. If you arrive late or haven’t completed the required forms, you won’t be able to take part, and no refunds or compensation will be given.
i. Booking Errors
If a booking has been made due to an error—whether technical, typographical, or otherwise—we reserve the right to cancel, amend, or void it. If this happens, we’ll notify you promptly and either offer an alternative booking or issue a full refund. We won’t be liable for any costs or inconvenience caused as a result.
3. Cancellations and Refunds
This section outlines our cancellation and refund policy for booked Activities at Bahrain Surf Park. For information regarding Board Repair Services, please see Section 9.
a. If you need to change or cancel your booking:
i. If you wish to amend or cancel your booking, please log in to your Bahrain Surf Park account or contact our Customer Service Team at least 7 days before your scheduled Activity.
ii. Cancellations made 7 or more days in advance of your Activity date are eligible for a gift voucher equal to the full booking value. Please note we do not offer cash refunds in this case. Alternatively, you may prefer to reschedule your booking as outlined below.
iii. Rescheduling is subject to availability. You may move your booking to a different date for the same value or a lower-priced Activity by logging into your account. If you'd like to upgrade to a higher-priced Activity, please contact our Customer Service Team to pay the price difference. If you switch to a lower-priced option, we cannot refund the difference.
iv. Unfortunately, if you're within 7 days of your scheduled Activity and the park is operational, you won’t be entitled to reschedule, cancel, or receive any form of refund or credit.
b. If we need to change or cancel your booking:
i. In certain cases, we may need to cancel or amend your booking—this could be due to safety issues, technical faults, or factors outside our control (such as weather conditions). If that happens, we’ll do our best to notify you as early as possible. While we hope you’ll accept a gift voucher or reschedule, you’re also welcome to contact us to request a refund.
ii. If your session is cancelled after it has already begun, we may offer a partial refund at our discretion depending on how much of the Activity was completed.
iii. Refunds made to debit or credit cards will be returned to the same payment method. Any bookings originally paid for with a gift voucher will be refunded with a new gift voucher of equivalent value.
4. Health and Safety
Your wellbeing and enjoyment are our top priorities. To help ensure that your experience at Bahrain Surf Park is both safe and fun, we ask that all guests follow these safety guidelines:
a. Safety Rules and Requirements
i. Children under 6 years old cannot take part in our standard surf or bodyboarding sessions. Occasionally, we may offer Activities tailored for younger children or with specific age allowances—please refer to our website or contact Customer Services for current options.
ii. Alcohol or recreational drugs are strictly prohibited before or during any Activity. Anyone suspected of being under the influence will not be permitted to participate.
iii. All participants must arrive on time and attend a mandatory safety briefing. Missing the briefing means you won’t be allowed to take part in the session.
iv. For most surf and bodyboarding sessions, you must be able to swim at least 25 metres unaided. Certain Activities may have additional requirements, so please double-check your booking details and our website.
v. Only approved equipment—such as surfboards and bodyboards—is allowed in the lagoon. For full details, please review the equipment guidelines available online.
vi. We strongly recommend not wearing glasses or sunglasses in the water. If you require vision correction, prescription goggles are your safest option. Contact lens wearers should consider tight-fitting goggles. If you choose to wear glasses, you do so at your own risk—we cannot guarantee retrieval if lost.
vii. Always follow all safety instructions or signage provided on-site or by our staff. If anything is unclear, just ask—we’re here to help.
viii. Please behave in a responsible and respectful manner both in the water and throughout the park.
ix. Reckless behavior or any actions that endanger yourself or others will not be tolerated.
5. Accessibility
Bahrain Surf Park is committed to being an inclusive destination and strives to make all facilities and Activities accessible to as many individuals as possible. While most Activities are designed to be inclusive, certain individuals may require specific adjustments or equipment to participate safely. If any member of your group requires additional support, we kindly request that you contact our Customer Services Team prior to making your booking, so we may discuss and accommodate your specific needs.
6. Acknowledgement of Risk and Waiver
a. Participation in certain Activities, including surfing and bodyboarding, requires each participant to complete an Acknowledgement of Risk and Waiver prior to taking part. To expedite the check-in process, we recommend completing this documentation before arriving on site.
b. A link to the Acknowledgement of Risk and Waiver will be sent to the email address provided at the time of booking. It is your responsibility to ensure that the waiver is completed for each individual included in the booking.
c. For participants who will be under the age of 18 on the date of the booked Activity, a parent, legal guardian, or an authorised adult over 18 years of age (designated by the parent or guardian) must complete the waiver on the minor’s behalf.
7. Children and Young People
a. Minimum age requirements for specific Activities are detailed on our website.
b. All children under the age of 16 must be accompanied on site by an authorised adult aged 18 or over, regardless of whether the child is participating in an Activity. Entry will be denied to unaccompanied minors under 16, with no entitlement to a refund or compensation.
c. The authorised adult assumes full responsibility for the children under their care while on site and must ensure that these Terms and Conditions are understood and adhered to. The adult must also be aware of the children’s whereabouts at all times.
d. We encourage adults to join surf sessions alongside their children. If not actively participating in the water, the responsible adult must remain close to the lake during the session to offer support. Adults participating in water-based Activities with children must purchase a ticket for the relevant session.
8. Equipment
a. Provided Equipment for Surfing and Bodyboarding: Bahrain Surf Park supplies participants with a full-length wetsuit and either a soft surfboard or bodyboard. Performance hardboards are available for hire, subject to availability, for experienced surfers. Helmets, gloves, boots, and hoods are also available at no extra charge.
Helmets are mandatory for:
All participants under 18 years of age in any surf or bodyboarding session;
All participants, regardless of age, in Beginner Bay sessions.
b. Safety and Maintenance: Safety information, including equipment requirements, is available on our website or through the Customer Contact Centre. While we take all reasonable steps to ensure the safety and condition of equipment, you are responsible for reporting any damage that occurs during your use. Participants may also use their own wetsuits and surfboards.
c. Personal Items and Attire: Participants must bring swimwear and a towel. These items are also available for purchase on site, subject to availability. Rash vests, which indicate surf level, will be provided and must be worn over the wetsuit while in the lake. For safety, all piercings should be removed or taped, and jewellery and hearing aids must be taken off.
d. Non-Surf Activities: For non-surf Activities, equipment and clothing requirements will be provided via email prior to your booking.
e. Damage to Equipment: You are liable for the cost of repair or replacement in cases of wilful damage, loss, or damage caused by negligence or carelessness.
f. Theft and Misuse: If any member of your group is found to have deliberately removed equipment or property belonging to Bahrain Surf Park from the premises, all individuals in the group may be asked to leave immediately and may be banned from making future bookings.
g. Storage: Lockers are available on site, subject to availability.
9. Board Repair Services
a. Bahrain Surf Park offers Board Repair Services at designated times throughout the year. Please visit our website for current availability.
b. Appointments can be booked via your online account or through our Customer Contact Centre. A non-refundable deposit is required to secure your booking. A confirmation email will be issued, forming a binding contract between you and Bahrain Surf Park.
c. Each booking entitles you to a 15-minute time slot. Late arrivals will forfeit their appointment and deposit, and we are not obligated to offer an alternative time or refund.
d. Our team will assess your board and provide a repair quote along with an estimated timescale. These timescales are indicative only and may vary based on the extent of the required repair. Multiple repairs will be itemised separately.
e. Waterlogged boards will require extended drying time. We can facilitate this on site, which may delay the overall repair process.
f. If you accept the quote, you will sign a Service and Repair form, and your deposit will be deducted from the total fee. If you decline the repair, the deposit will not be refunded. If we are unable to carry out the repair and no quote is provided, we will return your deposit in full.
g. Only repairs outlined in the signed Service and Repair form will be undertaken. If further damage is identified during the repair, you will be contacted to approve additional work and associated costs.
h. You will be notified when your board is ready. Full payment is required before collection. We reserve the right to retain the board until payment is received in full.
j. Boards must be collected within 7 days of notification. If uncollected after this period, you will receive written notice (including via email), after which you will have 21 days to collect your board. If you fail to collect it within this timeframe, Bahrain Surf Park reserves the right to sell the board.
k. Personal items such as leashes, fins, or board bags left with the board are your responsibility. We advise removing them prior to handing over the board, as we do not accept liability for loss or damage.
l. Repairs will be conducted with due care and professional skill; however, we do not guarantee that the finish will meet specific aesthetic expectations. Colour matching may be available at an additional cost, but exact matching cannot be guaranteed.
m. Replacement parts are guaranteed for 12 months, and labour and workmanship are guaranteed for 6 months from the date you are notified the board is ready.
n. If a subsequent issue arises during the guarantee period and we determine it falls within the scope of the warranty, we will either perform a free repair or, at our sole discretion, refund the full cost of the initial repair. The warranty excludes:
Fair wear and tear;
Poor maintenance by the customer;
Damage due to negligence, misuse, or improper storage.
o. While we will take reasonable precautions to protect your property, Bahrain Surf Park shall not be liable for any loss, theft, or damage to your board except where such loss or damage is a result of our negligence. In such instances, our liability is limited to repair or replacement.
